চাষ ও বপনের টিপস
📅 বপনবসন্তে (তুরস্কে: মার্চ-মে) বীজ, কাটিং অথবা টবের চারা দিয়ে; মাটি 15°C-এর উপরে উঠলে বীজ গজায়। কাটিং সবচেয়ে সহজ পদ্ধতি; তুষারপাত শেষ হলে চারা লাগান। বহুবর্ষজীবী ও শীত সহনশীল।
🌱 গভীরতাবীজ: 0.3-0.5 সেমি, খুব হালকা করে ঢাকুন (গজানোর জন্য আলো লাগে, পৃষ্ঠের কাছাকাছি বপন করুন); কাটিং: শিকড় গজানো পর্যন্ত আর্দ্র পরিবেশে

🌞 রোদপূর্ণ রোদ (দিনে 6-8 ঘণ্টা); খুব গরম অঞ্চলে বিকেলের হালকা ছায়ায় সমস্যা হয় না
💧 সেচকম; খরায় খুবই সহনশীল, বেশি জলে শিকড় পচে যায়। শুধু শিকড় ধরা পর্যন্ত নিয়মিত জল দিন, তারপর মাটি শুকালে তবেই।
🧺 ফসল তোলাসারা বছর; ফুল ফোটার ঠিক আগে ডালের আগা কাটলে সুগন্ধ সর্বোচ্চ মাত্রায় থাকে। এক বারে গাছের 1/3 অংশের বেশি কাটবেন না।
🪴 মাটিহালকা, বেলে-পাথুরে, ভালো নিষ্কাশনযুক্ত; নিরপেক্ষ থেকে সামান্য ক্ষারীয় (pH 6-8)। কম পুষ্টির মাটি পছন্দ করে; উর্বর/সারযুক্ত মাটিতে সুগন্ধ দুর্বল হয়।

📅 ক্যালেন্ডারটি উত্তর গোলার্ধ অনুযায়ী তৈরি; দক্ষিণ গোলার্ধে বপনের সময় প্রায় ৬ মাস সরিয়ে নিন।
💡 টিপস: অতিরিক্ত জল দেওয়া ও ভারী/ভেজা মাটি — এই দুটিই সবচেয়ে বড় ভুল; নিষ্কাশনকে অগ্রাধিকার দিন। সার এড়িয়ে চলুন। ফুল ফোটার পরে ছাঁটাই করলে গাছ খাটো, ঘন ও তরুণ থাকে।
🤝 সাথী গাছের যুক্তি: বাঁধাকপি জাতীয় গাছের পাশে বাঁধাকপির মথ/শুঁয়োপোকাকে নিরুৎসাহিত করে (আইওয়া স্টেট-এর পরীক্ষায় সমর্থিত); স্ট্রবেরির সঙ্গে ভালো জুটি; টমেটো/বেগুনে জাবপোকা/সাদা মাছিকে নিরুৎসাহিত করে; গাঁদা ফুল/পিটুনিয়ার সঙ্গে মিলে ক্ষতিকর পোকার বিরুদ্ধে সীমানা তৈরি করে। ব্যাসিল/ধনে/শসার মতো আর্দ্রতা-প্রিয়, সারযুক্ত মাটি চাওয়া গাছ থেকে দূরে রাখুন।
