📅 Calendar is for the Northern Hemisphere; in the Southern Hemisphere shift sowing times by ~6 months.

💡 Key tip: Radish is a fast-growing 'filler/marker plant'; it is perfect for filling gaps between large plants and for marking slow-germinating carrot/lettuce rows. If a few radishes are sown around cucumber and squash and left to flower, they drive off the cucumber beetle and squash pests. Harvest without delay; left in the field it turns woody and goes to seed.
🤝 Companion logic: Sown with cucumber and squash it drives off the cucumber beetle; it is compatible with lettuce, spinach, carrot, pea and chervil. Chervil and nasturtium improve radish growth and flavour. Planting it side by side with same-family brassicas (cabbage, kohlrabi) can increase shared flea-beetle/pest pressure. It should not be planted together with hyssop.
