💡 मुख्य सुझाव: फ्रेंच प्याज़ (chives) नियमित काटने पर अधिक घनी और ताज़ी बढ़ती है; यदि आप फूलों को खुला छोड़ देंगे तो यह बीज से आसानी से फैल जाती है, पर बाँटे गए पौधे ज़्यादा मज़बूत होते हैं।
🤝 साथी तर्क: गाजर, टमाटर, गुलाब, फलदार पेड़ (सेब), अजमोद, स्ट्रॉबेरी और पत्तागोभी कुल के साथ बेहतरीन मेल खाती है; अपनी गंधकयुक्त गंध से यापराक बिती (aphid), गाजर मक्खी और जापानी भृंग को भगाती है, गुलाब पर काला धब्बा और सेब पर सेब-स्कैब रोग को कम करती है, और अपने फूलों से लाभदायक कीट खींचती है। कम जगह घेरने के कारण इसे किनारों या गमलों में लगाकर लगभग कहीं भी पास रखा जा सकता है। सभी फलीदार पौधों (बाकला, फलियाँ, मटर, चना) से दूर रखें; allium फलीदार पौधों की जड़ों में मौजूद नाइट्रोजन-स्थिरीकरण करने वाले बैक्टीरिया को मारकर उनकी बढ़त रोक देती है।
