📅 बुवाईवसंत में (TR: मार्च-मई) बीज, कलम या गमले के पौधे से; मिट्टी 15°C से ऊपर जाने पर अंकुरित होता है। कलम सबसे आसान तरीका है; पौध को पाला बीतने के बाद बाहर लगाएँ। बहुवर्षीय और शीत-सहिष्णु।

💧 सिंचाईकम; यह सूखे को बहुत सहता है, ज़्यादा पानी जड़ सड़ा देता है। केवल जड़ पकड़ने तक नियमित सींचें, फिर मिट्टी सूखने पर ही पानी दें।
🧺 कटाईसाल भर; फूल आने से ठीक पहले टहनी के सिरे काटने पर सुगंध सबसे ऊँची होती है। एक बार में पौधे का 1/3 से ज़्यादा न लें।
🪴 मिट्टीहल्की, बलुई-पथरीली, अच्छी जल-निकासी वाली; उदासीन से हल्की क्षारीय (pH 6-8)। कम पोषक मिट्टी पसंद करता है; उपजाऊ/खाद वाली मिट्टी में सुगंध कमज़ोर पड़ती है।

💡 मुख्य सुझाव: ज़्यादा सिंचाई और भारी/गीली मिट्टी दो सबसे बड़ी गलतियाँ हैं; जल-निकासी को प्राथमिकता बनाएँ। खाद से बचें। फूल आने के बाद छँटाई पौधे को बौना, घना और जवान रखती है।
🤝 साथी तर्क: पत्तागोभी वर्ग के पास पत्तागोभी पतंगे/इल्ली को रोकता है (Iowa State परीक्षण से समर्थित); स्ट्रॉबेरी के साथ अच्छी जोड़ी बनाता है; टमाटर/बैंगन पर यह एफिड/सफेद मक्खी को रोकता है; गेंदा/पिटूनिया के साथ कीट-सीमा बनाता है। तुलसी/धनिया/खीरा जैसे नमी पसंद, खाद वाली ज़मीन चाहने वाले पौधों से दूर रखें।
